When racing is part of your DNA, you can't quit it cold turkey. That's the story for the owner and operator of Turn 5 Media. Once a racer himself, Steven Ovens journeyed away from racing to pursue a career in healthcare. But when his career was established and thriving, it was time to re-enter the world of motorsports.
With several years experience doing live wireless mobile radio, nearly five years of dirt track announcing experience and three publications in which he submits written content to, Ovens has broadened the scope of where Turn 5 Media can go in the future.
As the world of digital content expands to a video-heavy atmosphere, Turn 5 Media moves with the trend and has begun producing content that has numbers booming for their clients.
Turn 5 Media recently debuted a new, Facebook Live podcast with it's partner Woodhull Raceway. "Inside the Bullring" airs Live on Monday nights at 6PM on the Woodhull Raceway Facebook page and on YouTube.
Ovens serves as the full-time Media Director for Woodhull Raceway, where he also serves as the track's lead announcer. He also contributes weekly to a 2-hour motorsports program on the Performance Motorsports Network, where he spent several years as host of the EMPA Award-Winning 'Turn 5 Live.'
The Horseheads, NY resident also contributes a weekly column to the Sayre, PA Morning Times newspaper. He also contributes to several online media outlets in which he was recognized by the EMPA in their 2017 writers contest.
Ovens continues work full-time for the Guthrie Clinic, while managing Turn 5 Media clients Woodhull Raceway, DelGrosso Brothers Racing, Mac's Dairy Bar, the Hammer Down iRacing League, Creekside Entertainment and Ryan Graves Motorsports.
digital media, design
Brad Ovens has been with the Turn 5 Media brand since day one, when the Turn 5 Racing Podcast launched in 2013.
Brad was the magic man on the audio side that gave Turn 5's flagship program the professional feel and content that kept fans coming back weekly to see what Steven, Clint and Brad had to say about the past week's dirt track happenings.
He is the owner and operator of 3-nine Designs, which has been a major help with Turn 5 Media's expanded digital content production and distribution. 3-nine also supports Turn 5 Media from a design perspective with their many projects.
